Job Title: Sourcing Advisor
Location: Madison, WI (Hybrid Preferred)
Type: Contract
Duration: 6 months (with potential for extension)
Role Overview
The Sourcing Advisor will act as a key liaison between internal business teams and suppliers throughout the sourcing process. This role involves managing sourcing activities, supporting category strategies, and ensuring alignment with business requirements. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions.
Project Scope
* Support sourcing initiatives across various categories.
* Manage RFX processes (Request for Information/Proposal/Quote).
* Assist with supplier evaluation, negotiations, and due diligence.
* Provide contracting support and partner with internal teams to ensure compliance.
* Analyze spend and supplier data to inform sourcing decisions.
* Drive cost optimization while maintaining quality and mitigating risk.
Key Responsibilities
* Communicate updates on sourcing projects to stakeholders.
* Facilitate proposal analysis and supplier selection.
* Collaborate with contract teams to draft and revise agreements.
* Participate in negotiations to achieve favorable outcomes.
* Support category management rollout and savings documentation.
* Maintain sourcing standards and educate internal teams.
* Identify alternate suppliers and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Finance, or related field.
* 3+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or related areas.
* Proven experience in supplier negotiation and contract management.
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
* Ability to work independently and make decisions with limited information.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
* Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
* Familiarity with sourcing analysis techniques (TCO, ROI, risk assessment).
* Hands-on experience with sourcing process execution.
