Job Title: Technical Support Engineer

Location: Madison, Wisconsin Area - Travel

Type: Contract (Long Term, Open-Ended)

Duration: Through June 30, 2026 + Extensions Yearly

Overview

We are seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join a team responsible for maintaining and supporting the computer and network infrastructure for a large enterprise environment. This role involves extensive travel throughout Wisconsin and requires strong technical skills combined with excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain computer hardware and software across multiple locations.
• Provide technical support and resolve issues for end-users in various office and courtroom environments.
• Perform field service for hardware upgrades and emergency technical interventions.
• Respond effectively to unplanned events such as system failures or natural disasters.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.

Top Required Skills

• Minimum 2 years of experience in an enterprise IT environment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Logical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven ability to install, configure, repair, and maintain computer hardware.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of computer networking principles.
• Familiarity with digital audio recording equipment.
• Understanding of user account management in an Active Directory environment.

Additional Requirements

• Must be a current Wisconsin resident.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively (25-50% of the time) with occasional overnight stays.
• Ability to lift and move equipment up to 75 lbs.
• Mileage reimbursement provided for personal vehicle use.

Education

• Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
