LITIGATION PARALEGAL
Litify Case Management:
- Maintain a litigation caseload from inception of litigation to resolution.
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are up-to-date and easily accessible.
Legal Knowledge:
- Have comprehensive knowledge of relevant statutes, regulations, and case law to support attorneys in case preparation.
- Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations affecting personal injury litigation.
Drafting and Filing:
- Prepare and draft documents, including Complaints, Pleadings, Motions, and Discovery Requests/Responses.
- Coordinate the filing (physical and e-filing) of all documents with the appropriate courts (Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Federal courts) and all relevant parties.
Discovery Process:
- Oversee the discovery process by managing document production, conducting document reviews, and organizing relevant information.
- Prepare and respond to discovery requests, subpoenas, and other legal documents.
Client Communication:
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties as needed.
- Provide updates to clients on case status and progress.
Trial Preparation:
- Assist attorneys in trial preparation by organizing trial exhibits, coordinating witnesses, and preparing trial binders.
- Attend trial proceedings to provide support as necessary.
Administrative Support:
- Perform general administrative tasks, such as scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, and managing correspondence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, paralegal certification, or appropriate hands-on work experience;
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a litigation paralegal in a personal injury law firm;
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a pod system to include a Pre-Litigation Paralegal, Litigation Paralegal, and Attorney(s);
- Proficient in the use of legal case management software (Litify a plus) and Microsoft Office Suite.
