Senior Accountant (Real Estate / Property Accounting)

A well-established nonprofit real estate organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to support a portfolio of properties. This role handles full-cycle property accounting, monthly close, financial reporting, budgeting support, and audit coordination. Ideal for someone who enjoys owning their books and working cross-functionally with property managers and finance leadership.

What You'll Do

• Own general ledger accounting for assigned properties

• Prepare monthly financial statements and reconciliations

• Post journal entries and resolve variances

• Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, income, and expenses

• Support annual budgeting and reforecasting

• Partner with auditors through year-end audits and reporting

• Track reserve activity and key property-level financials

• Review financials across broader property portfolio as needed

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of accounting experience (real estate or property accounting strongly preferred)

• Experience with full-cycle GL and month-end close

• Strong reconciliation and financial analysis skills

• Comfortable working under deadlines

• High attention to detail

• Experience with Yardi or similar property management/accounting systems a plus

• Associate's degree in Accounting or related field (Bachelor's a plus)
