Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, the ability to analyze financial data, and a focus on improving processes while supporting overall business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee project/job cost accounting, ensuring accurate tracking of revenues, costs, and profitability
- Prepare and review work-in-progress (WIP) schedules, project forecasts, and variance analysis
- Manage revenue recognition in accordance with contract terms and accounting standards
- Reconcile project accounts, billing, and retention receivables on a monthly basis
- Partner with project managers to provide financial reporting, budget tracking, and performance analysis
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations
- Assist with audits, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3-5+ years of accounting experience, with emphasis on job costing/project accounting
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, QuickBooks, or similar)
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $90k-110k
