About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client on a contract-to-hire basis. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate the ability to transition from transactional responsibilities to broader accounting functions. This role offers the opportunity to grow within the organization while contributing to the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and post journal entries for monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and intercompany transactions.
Assist with preparation of financial statements, including P&L and balance sheets.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions as needed.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
Assist with audit requests, tax filings, and ad hoc financial reporting.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Solid understanding of GAAP and standard accounting practices.
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Oracle, NetSuite, SAP, or similar) and strong Excel skills.
Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
