Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our client's accounting team on a temp-to-hire basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cost accounting, general ledger functions, and financial reporting within a manufacturing environment. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial data, supporting month-end close activities, and assisting management with meaningful financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily accounting functions including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.

  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines and accuracy are met.

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, supporting schedules, and variance reports.

  • Support cost accounting processes, including inventory valuation, work-in-progress tracking, and standard cost updates.

  • Monitor and reconcile inventory transactions and assist in cycle counts or physical inventory audits.

  • Collaborate with operations and production teams to ensure proper accounting for materials, labor, and overhead.

  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities as needed.

  • Support internal controls and ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures.

  • Provide support for audits and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

  • 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar).

  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
