Location: Remote EST hours

Duration: 4-6+ months

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable data governance policies, processes, and standards.

  • Manage and optimize governance-related workflows across Azure Data Services, including Azure Purview, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, and Azure SQL Database.

  • Define and enforce data ownership, data quality rules, and metadata standards in partnership with data stewards and business stakeholders.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and visual reports in Power BI to monitor data quality, usage, and compliance metrics.

  • Write advanced SQL queries to perform backend data validation, data profiling, and data lineage analysis.

  • Support master data management (MDM) and data stewardship efforts to ensure consistency and accuracy across systems.

  • Assist in integrating governance practices with Salesforce and other enterprise platforms as needed.

  • Collaborate with technical and business teams to ensure that data governance policies align with data architecture, security, and usage standards.

  • Document and maintain data dictionaries, glossaries, and lineage diagrams.

Required:

  • 4+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or data engineering roles.

  • Hands-on experience with Azure data services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Azure Data Lake, and preferably Azure Purview.

  • Strong SQL skills for data validation, analysis, and governance rule enforcement.

  • Experience creating Power BI dashboards and reports, especially for governance and compliance tracking.

  • Solid understanding of metadata management, data lineage, data cataloging, and data quality frameworks.

  • Familiarity with data privacy and regulatory compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA).

  • Experience working with or building data governance frameworks in a cloud-first environment.
