Job Summary:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and managing a team of accounting professionals. This role plays a key part in month-end close, budgeting, compliance, and audit preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Supervise and develop accounting staff, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Staff Accountants.
Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
Prepare and review monthly financial reports and variance analyses.
Coordinate annual audit processes with external auditors and ensure timely completion.
Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial integrity.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis.
Ensure timely filing of all tax and regulatory reporting (sales tax, payroll tax, 1099s, etc.).
Maintain compliance with internal policies and relevant laws and regulations.
Support implementation of accounting systems or process improvements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory experience.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles.
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, Oracle, SAP).
Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial reporting tools.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
