Location: Philadelphia Hybrid on site 2 days/week
We are seeking an Azure Data Engineer to join our data and analytics team. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data solutions in Microsoft Azure to support analytics, reporting, and machine learning initiatives. The ideal candidate has a strong background in data engineering, cloud platforms, and modern data tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement end-to-end data pipelines in Azure using tools such as Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Databricks.
Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes to ingest, transform, and load data from various structured and unstructured sources.
Build and optimize data lake and data warehouse solutions on Azure.
Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across data systems and pipelines.
Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver reliable data solutions.
Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows to ensure performance, reliability, and scalability.
Implement CI/CD for data pipelines and maintain infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform or ARM templates.
Work with Azure DevOps, Git, and other tools to manage code and automate deployments.
Apply best practices in data modeling, data partitioning, and query optimization.
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in a data engineering role, with at least 2 years focused on Azure.
Proficiency with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, and Databricks.
Strong experience in SQL, Python, or PySpark for data transformation.
Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and big data technologies.
Familiarity with Azure security, role-based access control (RBAC), and data governance principles.
Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and performance tuning in a cloud environment.
