Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, assisting with month-end and year-end close processes, and supporting audits. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial data.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and post journal entries for general ledger accounts.
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts.
Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
Maintain and update fixed asset schedules and depreciation entries.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, or variances.
Prepare supporting documentation for audits and financial reporting.
Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting standards (e.g., GAAP).
Collaborate with other departments to gather information and support financial processes.
Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
1-3 years of relevant accounting experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
Ability to meet deadlines and work both independently and as part of a team.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
