SolarWinds Administrator

Secret Clearance Required

Overview:

We're seeking a skilled SolarWinds Administrator to support and manage the SolarWinds Orion platform and its key modules. This role involves working closely with IT teams to monitor system health, maintain visibility across environments, and proactively identify and resolve issues to improve operational performance.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Set up, configure, and sustain the SolarWinds Orion suite (including NPM, SAM, NTA, and others).

  • Develop and maintain templates for application and server monitoring.

  • Apply regular updates and hotfixes to the SolarWinds environment and associated modules.

  • Build and manage alerting workflows to ensure prompt notification of key events.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to integrate monitoring with existing tools and infrastructure.

  • Identify areas for operational improvements and implement strategic solutions to optimize reliability and performance.


Required Technical Expertise:

  • Solid understanding of core networking protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, and routing.

  • Working knowledge of enterprise hardware like routers, switches, wireless APs, firewalls, and load balancers.

  • Proficient in administering both Windows Server and/or Linux-based systems.

  • Experience with SQL (basic to intermediate level) for data extraction and troubleshooting.

  • Ability to work with APIs-especially REST-based interfaces-using methods like GET, POST, PUT, and DELETE, and handling data in JSON or XML formats.


Additional Qualifications:

  • Interest in keeping up with new Splunk capabilities and best practices.

  • Eagerness to expand technical knowledge and adapt to evolving cybersecurity needs.

  • Collaborative mindset, capable of partnering with teams across security, operations, and development.

  • Strong troubleshooting ability with a focus on log analysis and root cause resolution.
