Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant for a temporary to hire opportunity within a fast-paced manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close processes, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment. This position offers the potential for a permanent role based on performance and business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the month-end and year-end close processes
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
Analyze cost structures and variances related to manufacturing and inventory
Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures
Support fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules
Collaborate with operations and supply chain to align financial and production data
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
Prepare reports for internal management and external auditors
Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in an industrial or manufacturing setting
Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles
Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
Strong organizational and communication skills
