Duties:

Position Summary:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies. This role includes preparing and reviewing financial statements, reconciling accounts, performing month-end and year-end close activities, and supporting audits. The Senior Accountant will collaborate closely with internal departments to maintain accurate financial records and support decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

    • Monthly account reconciliations
    • Monthly accounting workpapers
    • House cost review against budgeted amounts and accruing for unspent work
    • Reviewing housing revenue entries for accuracy and completion
    • Researching payments for other departments and doing journal entry reclassifications as-needed
    • Answering account coding questions for other divisional team members

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.

  • 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
