Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant to join our finance team. The Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. This role involves working closely with finance leadership and cross-functional departments to support budgeting, reporting, and audit processes.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger entries, journal entries, and reconciliations.
Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and other financial transactions.
Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals and adjustments.
Prepare financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP (or IFRS, if applicable).
Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Assist with external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support management decision-making.
Maintain organized records and support process improvement initiatives within the accounting department.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or pursuing CPA a plus).
2+ years of accounting experience (public or corporate accounting preferred).
Strong knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting principles.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Oracle NetSuite, SAP, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience with financial reporting tools.
Exposure to ERP system implementations or process improvements.
Knowledge of tax compliance and payroll processes a plus.
