About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our client's accounting team. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing the general ledger, preparing accurate financial reports, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal policies. This position requires strong analytical abilities, excellent organizational skills, and the capacity to support both routine accounting tasks and strategic financial projects. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries and reconciliations.
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses.
Review balance sheet and P&L accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
Conduct variance analyses and provide insights to management.
Support internal and external audits, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
Assist with tax compliance, filings, and coordination with external tax advisors.
Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CPA eligibility preferred.
4+ years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting and/or corporate).
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
Proficiency with accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar).
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, modeling).
Exceptional attention to detail with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
