Location: Remote EST hours
Duration: 6-8 weeks
We are seeking a skilled PL/SQL Developer to design, develop, optimize, and maintain Oracle database applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in PL/SQL programming, database performance tuning, and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to build reliable, scalable data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and scripts.
- Optimize SQL queries and PL/SQL code for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Develop and maintain database objects such as tables, views, indexes, and materialized views.
- Participate in database design including data modeling, normalization, and schema creation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, bugs, and data inconsistencies.
- Work with application developers to integrate PL/SQL code with front-end and middle-tier applications.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes, data imports/exports, and batch jobs.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for database processes and procedures.
- Ensure proper implementation of data security, integrity, and backup protocols.
- Collaborate with QA teams to support testing, debugging, and deployment.
- Support production systems and provide timely resolutions for database-related incidents.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on PL/SQL development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and relational database concepts.
- Experience with performance tuning, query optimization, and execution plans.
- Familiarity with Oracle tools such as SQL*Plus, SQL Developer, TOAD, or similar.
- Knowledge of ETL processes, stored procedures, and batch scripting.
- Experience with Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting (preferred).
- Understanding of SDLC methodologies, Agile or Waterfall.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
