Location: Malvern, PA - 4-5 days on site
Duration: 6+ months
Position Description
- Creates user documentation, tutorials, microcopy/user interface copy, and videos for client's products
- Collaborates with product teams and subject matter experts to ensure quality and technical accuracy of content
- Attains appropriate knowledge of products and documentation tools, processes, and procedures
- Update documentation to align with evolving UX design.
- Transforms highly technical engineering concepts into simplified, structured content using DITA, XML, and modern documentation standards.
- Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail in content accuracy and consistency.
- Take ownership of the success of individual pages, ensuring cohesiveness across the documentation set.
- Proactively review pages and provide feedback for improvements.
REQUIRED Skills:
- Must have experience with MadCap Flare, oXygen XML editing, DITA, and HTML processes - Comparable tools will be considered, but these are preferred and most relevant to the project.
- Experience migrating from MadCap Flare (or similar tool) to oXygen XML Editor Author and configure structured XML content (DITA/DocBook) in Oxygen.
- Experience building help systems or documentation systems (DITA and oXygen based preferred, but open to similar tools).
- Experience working with WebHelp, navigating source control, making updates within HTML.
- Familiarity with documentation authoring concepts, structured documentation, build tools, and version control (Git).
- Experience determining the best method in which to present information and then creating the appropriate output(s), such as topic-based help, videos, tutorials, graphics, and interactive learning systems.
- BS or BA in Technical Writing, Technical Communication, Computer Science, English/Linguistics, Journalism, Engineering or related degree.
