Position Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing key accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting the month-end and year-end close processes. This role performs complex accounting tasks, analyzes financial data, and ensures compliance with GAAP and internal controls. The Senior Accountant may also mentor junior staff and support audits and process improvements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes

  • Prepare and review journal entries (accruals, prepaids, reclasses, adjustments)

  • Maintain and reconcile complex general ledger accounts

  • Prepare financial statements and management reports

  • Perform variance analysis and provide explanations to leadership

  • Oversee bank, balance sheet, and intercompany reconciliations

  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes

  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal controls

  • Support internal and external audits

  • Identify and implement process improvements

  • Mentor and review work of junior accounting staff


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)

  • 4-7+ years of progressive accounting experience

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP

  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Sage Intacct)

  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
