Position Summary
The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the accounting department by preparing financial reports, maintaining general ledger accounts, reconciling balances, and assisting with month-end and year-end close processes. This role ensures accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and post journal entries (accruals, prepaids, adjustments)
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules
Analyze variances and provide explanations to management
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
Assist with audits by preparing requested documentation
Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
1-3 years of accounting experience
Knowledge of U.S. GAAP principles
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
