Staff Accountant
The Staff Accountant supports the accounting team by performing daily and monthly financial tasks. Responsibilities include preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, maintaining the general ledger, and assisting with month‑end and year‑end close. The role analyzes financial data, identifies discrepancies, and prepares reports to support management. Additional duties may include assisting with audits, tax preparation, inventory or job‑costing activities, and improving accounting processes.
Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1-3+ years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP)
- Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
- Ability to analyze financial data and resolve discrepancies
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem‑solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Software Skills
- Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, reporting)
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Experience with accounting/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks, NetSuite-adjust as needed)
- General Ledger and financial reporting software
- Ability to learn new financial systems quickly
