Description
The Senior Accountant is responsible for core accounting functions, including detailed account analysis, audit support, and the application of key accounting standards within a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This role partners closely with the Controller and finance team to strengthen accounting processes and ensure accurate, efficient, and reliable financial reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Perform detailed account reconciliations and analysis, investigating and resolving discrepancies while ensuring timely and accurate entries
* Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant accounting standards, including revenue recognition and lease accounting guidance
* Support month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of reconciliations and financial analysis
* Assist with annual audit activities, including preparing schedules, responding to auditor requests, and coordinating with external audit partners
* Identify opportunities to improve reconciliation processes and strengthen internal controls
* Support special projects and cross-functional initiatives as needed
* Perform additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

Education and Certification
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
* CPA or CPA-eligible (150 credit hours)

Experience
* Minimum of 3 years of experience, including public accounting experience, preferably with a Big 4 firm

Skills and Abilities
* Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
* Experience with Colleague or a similar ERP system
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting systems
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications
* Experience evaluating and testing internal controls over financial reporting within a regulated or industry-specific environment
* Experience with accounting research using authoritative accounting guidance
* Experience supporting or implementing process automation initiatives within accounting functions
* Experience auditing mission-driven or regulated organizations, including familiarity with specialized accounting standards and reporting requirements
* Familiarity with government auditing standards and experience supporting audits conducted under regulatory or compliance-based frameworks
