Qualified candidates demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities and work in an organized, efficient manner. This is a services position that supports litigators throughout the firm. Candidate should also be flexible to work overtime as needed.<\/p>\n<p>Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist attorneys in all stages of litigation cases from onset through post-trial<\/li>\n<li>Oversee organization, maintenance, and appropriate utilization of documents and other case-related materials, including maintenance of client-presentable and efficient work areas and case rooms.<\/li>\n<li>Assists and manages with the discovery process, prepares for depositions, propounds and responds to written discoveries, and prepares for expert discovery<\/li>\n<li>Oversees and conducts document reviews and document productions; prepares documentation regarding criteria changes; tracks and reports on review progress and results.<\/li>\n<li>Perform analytical tasks, prepare witness interview memoranda, review and summarize documents, depositions, and court transcripts, and create and use substantive coding tools.<\/li>\n<li>Assists with basic legal research, including locating cases, statutes, and regulatory materials; conducts fact research on the internet and private search engines, such as Westlaw.<\/li>\n<li>Assists with law and motion practice, assembles motion papers and exhibits, coordinates filings of pleadings and briefs, and ensures proper service.<\/li>\n<li>Drafts common pleadings, motions, notices, and other court filings.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with federal and state rules of procedure and evidence for document format, content, filing, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Performs and oversees both simple and complex authority and fact cite-checking; confirms case quotes, proofreads briefs, and other legal documents.<\/li>\n<li>Assists and manages trial preparations, creates trial notebooks, identifies and organizes exhibits, coordinates witness schedules, maintains trial calendars and communicates effectively with opposing counsel and courtroom staff.<\/li>\n<li>Assists in preparation of post-trial filings, including briefings, motions for costs and sanctions, etc., and organizes the case for appeal if necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Maintains timely and accurate timekeeping records daily.<\/li>\n<li>Assists with other department activities as needed, and performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Skills &amp; Competencies<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to communicate professionally and interact effectively with all levels of personnel, including management staff and support staff.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work efficiently and effectively.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated attention to detail, reliability, outstanding organizational skills, and ability to learn new technology.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent client service skills and ability to work on multiple matters simultaneously in an organized manner and under minimal supervision.<\/li>\n<li>Skilled at drafting clear and concise memoranda, detailed fact summaries, pleadings, and other documents.<\/li>\n<li>Flexibility and ability to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands.<\/li>\n<li>Position periodically requires off-site work or the courthouse when the case goes to trial.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Education &amp; Prior Experience<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s Degree required, Certificate in Paralegal studies from an accredited institution preferred; equivalent experience considered.<\/li>\n<li>Certified Paralegal a plus<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal within a law firm with demonstrated knowledge of complex issues within the Litigation practice area.<\/li>\n<li>Exceptional computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly.<\/li>\n<li>Trial experience, including exhibit preparation, witness preparation and management, knowledge of subpoena preparation, experience working with judicial assistants and trial presentation vendors, experience assisting attorneys in the courtroom.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Technology<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Computer proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook, as well as document management.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency with E-filing and litigation support applications such as Relativity and PDF software.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Position Type\/Expected Hours of Work<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Full-time position.<\/li>\n<li>Hours are 9:00 am &#8211;
