This is a highly visible role that reports directly to the CFO and plays a key part in supporting the organization&#8217;s financial operations, grant management, and compliance functions.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"border-border-200 border-t-0.5 my-3 mx-1.5\" \/>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\"><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"[li_&amp;]:mb-0 [li_&amp;]:mt-1 [li_&amp;]:gap-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ul]:pb-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ol]:pb-1 list-disc flex flex-col gap-1 pl-8 mb-3\">\n<li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Manage day-to-day accounting functions including general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close<\/li>\n<li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Support grant management processes including tracking, reporting, and compliance with federal and private funding requirements<\/li>\n<li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Collaborate with the grant management team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting<\/li>\n<li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Assist with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting<\/li>\n<li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Support the Controller and CFO on special projects as the finance team grows<\/li>\n<li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and federal agency requirements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr class=\"border-border-200 border-t-0.5 my-3 mx-1.5\" \/>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\"><strong>Required Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"[li_&amp;]:mb-0 [li_&amp;]:mt-1 [li_&amp;]:gap-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ul]:pb-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ol]:pb-1 list-disc flex flex-col gap-1 pl-8 mb-3\">\n<li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">3-5+ years of accounting experience within a nonprofit organization<\/li>\n<li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Demonstrated experience with grant accounting and grant management<\/li>\n<li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Familiarity with federal funding and federal agency compliance requirements<\/li>\n<li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Strong organizational skills with the ability to work in a flexible, fast-paced environment<\/li>\n<li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr class=\"border-border-200 border-t-0.5 my-3 mx-1.5\" \/>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\"><strong>Preferred Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"[li_&amp;]:mb-0 [li_&amp;]:mt-1 [li_&amp;]:gap-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ul]:pb-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ol]:pb-1 list-disc flex flex-col gap-1 pl-8 mb-3\">\n<li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">CPA or progress toward certification a plus<\/li>\n<li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Experience with NetSuite and\/or Raiser&#8217;s Edge<\/li>\n<li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Prior experience in conservation, environmental, or philanthropy-focused organizations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr class=\"border-border-200 border-t-0.5 my-3 mx-1.5\" \/>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\"><strong>Work Schedule<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">Hybrid &#8211; Wednesday is the anchor in-office day; minimum 2 days\/week onsite, with 8+ days\/month preferred.
