A full-service law firm serving clients locally, nationally, and internationally, is seeking a Legal Assistant for its Litigation Practice Group in the Tallahassee office.<\/p>\n

Essential Functions<\/strong><\/div>\n

Experience working in a mid- to large-sized firm and collaborating with various departments across the firm to handle multiple responsibilities, including case openings, conflict checks, billing, records, and more.<\/p>\n

Must have strong knowledge of Federal and State court rules of procedure, including understanding the requirements to calculate deadlines.<\/p>\n

Schedule hearings and appointments in coordination with the attorneys.<\/p>\n

Effective oral and written communication skills are essential for drafting and proofreading correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents.<\/p>\n

Experience tracking firm, attorney, and client expenses and using application software to process reimbursements and payments.<\/p>\n

Knowledge and ability to participate in client billing, including assisting attorneys in entering narratives, tracking billable tasks, making edits, and delivering bills to clients in both electronic and paper formats.<\/p>\n

Managing electronic and paper case files.<\/p>\n

Handle incoming and outgoing mail and other correspondence-answer, screen, direct, and place telephone calls and emails.<\/p>\n

Physical attendance and punctuality at the workplace.<\/p>\n

Other duties may be assigned as needed.<\/p><\/div>\n

Skills and Technology<\/strong><\/div>\n
Must have at least five years of law firm experience as a defense litigation legal assistant with Federal and State court experience.<\/p>\n

Experience working with multiple attorneys is required.<\/p>\n

Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure and time constraints.<\/p>\n

Ability to effectively balance multiple assignments and workflow from various attorneys.<\/p>\n

Ability to multitask and handle multiple responsibilities and high volume is crucial. <\/p>\n

Strong attention to detail, initiative, and follow-through required. <\/p>\n

Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly express thoughts to others and exchange information. <\/p>\n

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including extensive knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, and experience working with law firm case management and billing software required.<\/p>\n

Knowledge of iManage, SmartTime, and Aderant <\/p><\/div>\n
