{"id":126566,"date":"2026-05-26T16:15:58","date_gmt":"2026-05-26T16:15:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bhsg.com\/jobs\/job\/t1459480boi_1779812158-plywood-plant-manager-elgin-oregon\/"},"modified":"2026-05-26T18:46:33","modified_gmt":"2026-05-26T18:46:33","slug":"t1459480boi_1779812158-plywood-plant-manager-elgin-oregon","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/bhsg.com\/jobs\/job\/t1459480boi_1779812158-plywood-plant-manager-elgin-oregon\/","title":{"rendered":"Plywood Plant Manager"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><strong><a id=\"myCustomID\" href=\"https:\/\/jobs.beaconhillstaffing.com\/jobs\/job\/T1459480BOI_1779812158\">To Apply for this Job Click Here<\/a><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>This position has responsibility to supervise, directly and through subordinate supervisors, all aspects of the activities involved in plywood manufacturing including responsibility for safety, planning, scheduling, and production; to inspect and ship the mill&#8217;s products; to elicit service and maintenance of physical structures and equipment; to control in-process and finished inventories; quality and costs. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Responsible for implementing the Company&#8217;s policies, procedures, and management actions to ensure compliance with Sustainable Forestry Management, third party certification programs (SFI, FSC, &amp; PEFC), and Chain-of-Custody system certification requirements. <\/li>\n<li>Responsible for communicating the Company&#8217;s SFI commitment and promotion of sustainable forestry practices to employees, wood producers, and suppliers.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for staffing efficiently and adequately for all required activities to manage and maintain labor and resources that promote efficient, safe operations with a high level of productivity.<\/li>\n<li>Plan, develop, and maintain necessary budgets and operating plans.<\/li>\n<li>Assure development and use of adequate controls and reporting systems to monitor and report safety, budget, quality, production, and maintenance information to leadership.<\/li>\n<li>May assist in strategic planning to include plant\/department budgets, capital projects, veneer and lumber processing, inventory levels, operating strategies, new product lines, training, staffing, and environmental compliance.<\/li>\n<li>May be responsible for coordinating, planning, and scheduling production to optimize equipment utilization, changes to economic and sales conditions, and to meet customer demands. <\/li>\n<li>Ensure the establishment and maintenance of safe and healthy working conditions and areas for all employees.<\/li>\n<li>Lead Improvement Cycle activities within area of responsibility.<\/li>\n<li>Identify or develop and deploy best practices throughout entire manufacturing facility in area of responsibility.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain company policy and regulatory compliance in supervising\/managing.<\/li>\n<li>Develop good employee relations, promptly handle and resolve employee complaints and grievances, and proactively communicate with employees.<\/li>\n<li>Communicate operational goals and strategic initiatives for area of responsibility. <\/li>\n<li>Train and develop workforce to meet job requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement.<\/li>\n<li>Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>College degree, or equivalent work experience in related job function. Minimum of eight (8) to ten (10) years of experience in manufacturing\/wood products\/management, including demonstrated responsibility for all areas identified. Requires a self-motivated, results-oriented individual with good analytical and communication skills, excellent planning and organizational skills, and a demonstrated commitment to the process of continuous improvement. A solid understanding of manufacturing practices and equipment is required. Must have the ability to work well with people at all levels and facilitate change and growth as needed in a team environment. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bachelor of Science, or technical degree in related field (Engineering, Forestry, Wood Science).
