This position plays a key role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and audit readiness while partnering closely with leadership on budgeting and financial oversight. The ideal candidate brings strong nonprofit accounting experience, a hands-on approach to operations, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable\/receivable, and reconciliations.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.<\/li>\n<li>Support financial reporting, including internal management reports and board-level materials.<\/li>\n<li>Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis (supporting budgets in the ~$30M range).<\/li>\n<li>Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies in compliance with GAAP and nonprofit standards.<\/li>\n<li>Lead audit preparation efforts, including coordination with external auditors and preparation of audit schedules.<\/li>\n<li>Support cash flow monitoring and financial planning initiatives.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in oversight of payroll processes as needed (experience is flexible but exposure is preferred).<\/li>\n<li>Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased operational efficiency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Strong nonprofit accounting experience, including exposure to fund accounting and donor\/grant reporting.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated hands-on experience with operational accounting and month-end close.<\/li>\n<li>Experience supporting audits and working directly with external auditors.<\/li>\n<li>Background in budgeting and financial planning;
