Our client, a well-established nonprofit organization located in the Durham, NC area, needs a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to work on a temporary-to-hire basis. The role is yours once you get started-you simply begin as a temporary employee of Beacon Hill to help expedite the hiring process.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">While working as the Staff Accountant, you will work alongside a team helping to assist the Controller with responsibilities including:<\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>Bank and general ledger account reconciliations<\/li>\n<li>Preparing and posting journal entries<\/li>\n<li>Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining fixed asset records and depreciation schedules<\/li>\n<li>Supporting grant accounting and restricted fund tracking<\/li>\n<li>Assisting with audit preparation and financial reporting<\/li>\n<li>Performing account analyses and researching variances<\/li>\n<li>Various related duties and projects as needed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">This is an incredible opportunity with a mission-driven organization that offers a collaborative culture and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community. The accounting team is highly supportive and provides excellent exposure to nonprofit accounting, financial reporting, and compliance. This is an in-office position; however, the daily schedule offers some flexibility.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">To be considered for this specific position, you would need to have:<\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>3+ years of accounting experience<\/li>\n<li>A BS\/BA in Accounting (Finance degrees considered with a strong accounting background)<\/li>\n<li>Nonprofit accounting experience is preferred but not required<\/li>\n<li>Experience with general ledger reconciliations and month-end close activities<\/li>\n<li>ERP or accounting software experience<\/li>\n<li>Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills<\/li>\n<li>Strong attention to detail and organizational skills<\/li>\n<li>Excellent written and verbal communication abilities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please apply!
