Desktop Support Technician<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Location: Onsite – Downtown Madison, WI<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Type: Contract<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Duration: Through end of year (with potential extension)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Overview<\/span><\/strong>
We are seeking a Desktop Support Technician to provide hands-on support for end users in a fast-paced environment. This role is heavily focused on onsite support and requires a strong customer-service mindset, as you will be responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, supporting end users at a service desk, and deploying and maintaining endpoint devices.<\/span>
Due to the nature of the work, this position requires full-time onsite presence. The technician will regularly assist users in person, perform desk-side support, and locate, deploy, recover, and troubleshoot laptops and other IT assets across multiple locations.<\/span><\/p>\n

Responsibilities<\/span><\/strong>
* Provide desktop, laptop, and peripheral support for end users<\/span>
* Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, operating system, and connectivity issues<\/span>
* Perform device imaging, deployment, configuration, and replacement activities<\/span>
* Support account-related issues, password resets, and access requests<\/span>
* Maintain accurate asset inventory and equipment tracking<\/span>
* Deliver desk-side and walk-up support through an IT service desk environment<\/span>
* Escalate complex issues to appropriate technical teams as needed<\/span>
* Document incidents, requests, and resolutions within a ticketing system<\/span><\/p>\n

Required Qualifications<\/span><\/strong>
* Experience providing desktop support in a corporate or enterprise environment<\/span>
* Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and operating systems<\/span>
* Experience supporting Windows-based environments<\/span>
* Excellent customer service and communication skills<\/span>
* Ability to prioritize and manage multiple support requests simultaneously<\/span>
* Comfortable working independently in a fully onsite environment<\/span><\/p>\n

Preferred Skills<\/span><\/strong>
* Experience with device deployment, imaging, and hardware refresh initiatives<\/span>
* Familiarity with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and endpoint management tools<\/span>
* Experience using IT service management or ticketing platforms<\/span>
* Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including Wi-Fi and VPN troubleshooting<\/span><\/p>\n
