{"id":129699,"date":"2026-07-22T19:09:46","date_gmt":"2026-07-22T19:09:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bhsg.com\/jobs\/job\/1467550_1784747386-controller-seattle-washington\/"},"modified":"2026-07-22T21:25:28","modified_gmt":"2026-07-22T21:25:28","slug":"1467550_1784747386-controller-seattle-washington","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/bhsg.com\/jobs\/job\/1467550_1784747386-controller-seattle-washington\/","title":{"rendered":"Controller"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><strong><a id=\"myCustomID\" href=\"https:\/\/jobs.beaconhillstaffing.com\/jobs\/job\/1467550_1784747386\">To Apply for this Job Click Here<\/a><\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Our client, a growing, nationally recognized engineering firm with operations across 20+ offices throughout the United States, is seeking an experienced Controller to lead accounting operations and financial reporting from their Seattle headquarters.<\/p>\n<p>This is a highly visible leadership role reporting directly to the CFO and offers the opportunity to oversee a large accounting function, partner with executive leadership, and help drive scalable processes in a multi-entity, multi-office environment.<\/p>\n<h3>What You&#8217;ll Do<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead and own the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting<\/li>\n<li>Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, reconciliations, consolidations, treasury activities, and financial controls<\/li>\n<li>Manage revenue recognition activities under ASC 606, including review of project progress, percent-complete calculations, and revenue forecasts<\/li>\n<li>Partner closely with operations and project leadership to support financial performance across multiple offices and business units<\/li>\n<li>Support annual audits, financial reporting requirements, banking relationships, compliance initiatives, and internal controls<\/li>\n<li>Drive process improvement efforts and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and reporting accuracy<\/li>\n<li>Develop, mentor, and lead a team of accounting professionals, including managers responsible for accounting, payroll, billing, and accounts payable<\/li>\n<li>Ensure accounting processes remain audit-ready and aligned with best practices<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic initiatives, acquisitions, growth plans, and operational improvements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>What We&#8217;re Looking For<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field<\/li>\n<li>Progressive accounting leadership experience, including Controller-level responsibilities<\/li>\n<li>Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close processes<\/li>\n<li>Experience managing accounting operations in a multi-entity or multi-location environment<\/li>\n<li>Hands-on leadership style with a willingness to dive into day-to-day accounting activities when needed<\/li>\n<li>Advanced Excel skills<\/li>\n<li>Strong team leadership, communication, and organizational skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing organization<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Preferred Qualifications<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>CPA designation<\/li>\n<li>Experience within engineering, architecture, consulting, construction, or other professional services industries<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition<\/li>\n<li>Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint<\/li>\n<li>Experience with Concur, Snowflake, or similar financial systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Why This Opportunity?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Executive-level exposure and direct partnership with the CFO<\/li>\n<li>Lead a well-established accounting team with several direct-report managers<\/li>\n<li>Join a stable, growing organization with a national footprint<\/li>\n<li>Beautiful newly designed downtown Seattle office with a private office included<\/li>\n<li>Paid parking provided<\/li>\n<li>Strong company culture focused on collaboration, professionalism, and long-term growth<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, hands-on accounting leader who enjoys balancing strategic leadership with operational execution.
