You will step into an established payroll environment, uncover opportunities for improvement, and help build a <strong>more standardized, automated, and scalable way forward.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As the Payroll Consultant, you will be responsible for:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assessing current p<strong>ayroll processes, workflows, systems, and controls<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Identifying <strong>inefficiencies, inconsistencies, and manual processes<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Developing a <strong>standardized and scalable payroll operating model<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Recommending opportunities for <strong>automation and system improvements<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Designing stronger workflows, approvals, controls, and audit trails<\/li>\n<li>Creating clear process documentation and standard operating procedures<\/li>\n<li>Partnering with payroll, HR, finance, operations, and technology stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Helping move recommendations<strong> from concept through implementation<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>This is not a routine payroll-processing position<\/strong>. It is an opportunity to take ownership of a meaningful project, ask the right questions, and influence how payroll operates moving forward. The ideal candidate is naturally curious, energized by process improvement, and willing to challenge &#8220;<strong>we&#8217;ve always done it this<\/strong> <strong>way<\/strong>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This is a <strong>hybrid position in the Portland area<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>To be considered, you should have:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>5+ years of progressive payroll experience preferred<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Experience supporting <strong>complex, multi-entity or multi-location payroll operations<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Experience assessing payroll processes and designing a standardized, scalable future state<\/li>\n<li>Experience improving workflows, controls, documentation, automation, and payroll systems<\/li>\n<li>Intermediate to advanced Excel skills<\/li>\n<li>The ability to <strong>work independently, think strategically, dig into the details, and challenge outdated processes<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you know payroll inside and out and can see beyond the current process to what it could become, we want to talk with you!
