Senior Financial Specialist<\/span><\/p>\n

About the Opportunity<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

A growing professional services organization supporting government-funded programs is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Specialist to join its team. This individual will play a key role in financial planning, budgeting, contract oversight, and client-facing financial management activities.<\/p>\n

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting federal contracts, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to communicate financial information effectively to stakeholders at all levels.<\/p>\n

\n

Key Responsibilities<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and financial analysis activities for government-funded programs and contracts.<\/p>\n

Manage financial operations related to clients and subcontractors, including budget development and ongoing financial oversight.<\/p>\n

Monitor contract funding, burn rates, and financial performance to ensure program objectives are achieved.<\/p>\n

Develop financial reports, dashboards, and recommendations to support business and operational decisions.<\/p>\n

Create and improve financial processes, controls, and standard operating procedures.<\/p>\n

Serve as a key point of contact for clients and subcontractors regarding financial performance and reporting.<\/p>\n

Deliver presentations and financial updates to leadership, clients, and external stakeholders.<\/p>\n

Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, regulations, and internal policies.<\/p>\n

Partner with cross-functional teams to identify process improvements and operational efficiencies.<\/p>\n

Maintain accurate financial documentation and reporting utilizing Microsoft Office 365 tools.<\/p>\n

\n

Qualifications<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.<\/p>\n

10+ years of experience supporting government-funded programs or federal contract environments.<\/p>\n

Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and financial analysis.<\/p>\n

Experience with contract funding management, burn rate analysis, and financial performance tracking.<\/p>\n

Proven ability to work directly with clients, subcontractors, and senior stakeholders.<\/p>\n

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office 365 suite.<\/p>\n

Experience developing financial processes, procedures, and operational controls.<\/p>\n

Strong verbal communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.<\/p>\n

Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative and client-facing environment.<\/p>\n

\n

Preferred<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Active or previously held security clearance.<\/p>\n

Experience within government contracting, defense, consulting, or professional services organizations.<\/p>\n

Knowledge of financial reporting and dashboard development tools.<\/p>\n

Experience with contract management or project accounting platforms.<\/p>\n
