We are partnering with a mission‑driven non‑profit organization seeking a Grant Accountant to oversee the financial management and compliance of grant‑funded programs. This role plays a key part in supporting program success by ensuring accurate grant accounting, reporting, and stewardship of funding sources.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the full grant accounting lifecycle, including award setup, budget tracking, reporting, and close‑out
* Review grant agreements to ensure compliance with donor, foundation, and government funding requirements
* Track grant expenditures to confirm costs are allowable, properly allocated, and accurately recorded
* Prepare financial reports, reimbursements, and drawdowns for federal, state, and private grants
* Monitor grant budgets and provide variance analysis and funding projections
* Reconcile grant balances and support month‑end and year‑end close activities
* Assist with audits, monitoring visits, and grantor inquiries
* Partner with program managers to provide financial guidance and support budget adherence
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
* 2-4+ years of accounting experience within a non‑profit, higher education, or grant‑funded environment
* Working knowledge of grant compliance, cost allocation, and fund accounting principles
* Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting or financial reporting systems
* High attention to detail with strong organizational and analytical skills
* Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non‑finance stakeholders
