Junior Cost Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Cost Accountant to support the cost accounting and financial operations of our finance team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with hands-on experience in transactional accounting, inventory support, and cost tracking. The Junior Cost Accountant will assist with maintaining accurate cost records, supporting month-end close activities, and analyzing cost-related data to support business operations.

Key Responsibilities
* Assist with tracking and recording product, job, or project costs
* Support inventory accounting, including reconciliations and variance analysis
* Review and maintain cost data related to materials, labor, and overhead
* Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
* Support cost analysis and reporting to identify trends and discrepancies
* Collaborate with operations and accounting teams to ensure accurate cost allocation
* Help maintain standard costing and support updates as needed

Qualifications
* Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
* 2-4+ years of experience in accounting, cost accounting, inventory accounting, or a related role
* Basic understanding of cost accounting principles and general ledger concepts
* Exposure to inventory, job costing, or manufacturing/construction environments is a plus
* Experience with ERP or accounting systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, QuickBooks, etc.) is a plus
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data entry, basic formulas, spreadsheets)
