Summary:
A Beacon Hill client is seeking a Junior Financial Analyst for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This role will support the finance and accounting team with financial reporting, data analysis, and budgeting activities. The Junior Analyst will assist in evaluating financial performance, maintaining reporting tools, and providing insights that help guide business decisions across the organization. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career finance professional to gain hands-on experience in financial analysis and corporate reporting.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in preparing and analyzing financial reports, including monthly performance summaries and variance analysis.
* Support budgeting and forecasting processes by gathering financial data and updating financial models.
* Analyze financial data to identify trends and support decision-making for finance leadership.
* Assist with month-end and quarter-end reporting activities.
* Maintain and update Excel-based financial models and reporting templates.
* Work with cross-functional teams to help track budget vs. actual results.
* Compile data and assist with preparing reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.
* Support the finance team with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting projects.
* Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data across internal systems and reports.
* Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvements in financial reporting and analysis.
Skills & Qualifications
* 0-2 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, finance, or related internship experience.
* Basic understanding of financial statements, reporting, and budgeting concepts.
* Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, basic data analysis).
* Familiarity with financial systems or ERP platforms is a plus.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
* Internship or entry-level experience supporting financial reporting or analysis.
* Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, or financial planning processes.
* Experience with data visualization or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
* Interest in developing a career in corporate finance, FP&A, or financial reporting.
