Our client, a manufacturing company in Elgin is looking for a temporary Production Planner who supports the Materials Manager by preparing and maintaining production schedules, managing intercompany orders, and ensuring inventory control. This role collaborates with global teams, customer service, and production to meet customer demands and achieve business KPIs. This is an onsite role with the hours of 8-5pm.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain weekly production schedules to maximize capacity and meet customer shipments.
- Manage SAP workflows for production and intercompany orders, ensuring accurate master data.
- Monitor backlogs, adjust delivery quantities, and organize expedited shipments as needed.
- Process customer orders, schedule adjustments, and handle quality claims and returns.
- Generate and analyze reports to create, reschedule, or cancel production orders.
- Maintain inventory control and manage exception messages (e.g., ZREQs).
- Communicate project status and collaborate with global teams to meet standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within ISO 9001 quality systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience.
- 2+ years of related experience in production planning or supply chain.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
