Beacon Hill is partnering with a well-established nonprofit organization in the Philadelphia area, they are looking to hire an Accounting Manager for their growing finance team.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, fully onsite
Contract to Hire
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and adjust annual agency, departmental, and program budgets in compliance with applicable regulations and mandates
- Advanced Excel
- Prepare GAAP compliant financial statements including income statements and cash flow statements
- Maintain internal cost accounting systems to measure service delivery costs and ensure departmental budget compliance
- Provide financial guidance and budgetary analysis to leadership regarding fiscal condition and significant financial events
- Monitor and measure agency budget compliance
- Facilitate independent audits and ensure compliance standards are met to maintain unqualified audit opinions
- Develop and implement financial controls to minimize fraud risk and ensure accurate program billing
- Conduct internal departmental audits to ensure compliance with regulations and internal controls
- Maintain and improve fiscal policies, procedures, and reporting processes
- Support compliance with employee benefits plans and reporting requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
* 3+ years of cost accounting experience
* 3+ years preparing and analyzing budgets and financial statements
* Strong knowledge of GAAP
* Experience with audits, compliance, and internal controls
* Strong communication skills with the ability to support and advise leadership
* Ability to work fully onsite and commute between Philadelphia locationsPreferred Qualifications:
* Master’s degree in finance-related field
* CPA or other accounting certification
* Nonprofit, government, public health, or human services experience
