Position Summary
A leading real estate development firm is seeking an experienced Senior Real Estate Accounts Payable Accountant to manage the full accounts payable lifecycle, support cash management and treasury operations, and maintain strong financial controls across a multi-entity real estate environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, process-driven, and experienced in handling complex real estate accounting transactions, vendor relations, and intercompany activities.We provide full-service development, property management, and financial management solutions, managing assets and projects that span significant capital investments. Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable & Expense Management
Oversee end-to-end accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, approvals, and timely payment execution.
Administer corporate credit-card programs, travel & expense reimbursements, and ensure compliance with internal policies.
Maintain accurate vendor records, including W-9s, insurance documentation, and vendor onboarding.
Allocate costs appropriately across projects, entities, and affiliates.
Lead 1099 reporting, vendor inquiries, and IRS-compliant filings.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and controls.
Financial Operations & Treasury Support
Support daily cash management, intercompany funding, and banking operations.
Assist in cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and monthly reconciliations.
Coordinate with development and investment teams on capital calls, distributions, or joint-venture funding activities.
Maintain accurate account records and assist with opening/closing bank accounts as needed.
Systems, Processes & Reporting
Serve as primary user for accounting and treasury systems, ensuring accurate workflow and reporting.
Maintain and refine accounting policies and procedures to support growth and scalability.
Prepare management reports, including KPIs, cash forecasts, and balance sheet summaries.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Finance, Development, Legal, HR, and Operations teams to ensure alignment of financial practices with business objectives.
Act as a key liaison with banking partners, vendors, and auditors.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or treasury-related certifications preferred.
5+ years of experience in accounts payable, treasury, or corporate finance; real estate or multi-entity experience highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of AP processes, treasury operations, cash management, and banking structures.
Experience with ERP or accounting systems such as Yardi, SAP, or Concur.
Advanced Excel and analytical skills.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
Occasional travel to project sites or banking partners may be required.
