Accounting Manager – Jessup, MD
Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a local client in Jessup, MD in the search for an Accounting Manager to join their team. The position will be responsible for supervising accounting functions and leading the team handling accounts payable and general ledger tasks. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of GAAP and supervising accounting functions in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of GAAP and experience leading accounting operations in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Supervision: Manage and support the daily work of the Accounts Payable team, Accounting Coordinator, and Accounting Specialist.
- Accounts Payable & Payments: Oversee the accounts payable process and payments to make sure they are done correctly, on time, and follow company rules and accounting standards.
- Corporate Credit Cards: Review and approve company credit card charges and make sure the process is accurate, efficient, and follows company policies and accounting rules.
- Cash & Investments: Keep track of bank account balances and suggest fund transfers to the Finance Director and CFO. Work with banks and investment firms on service issues and fees.
- Journal Entries: Check and post journal entries from other finance staff, including those for expenses, assets, and adjustments.
- Account Reconciliations: Review account reconciliations done by others each month, quarter, and year for things like cash, payables, and debt.
