Position Summary:
The Assistant Controller will support the CFO and finance leadership team with all accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end close processes. This role will manage day-to-day accounting activities, ensure compliance with GAAP, and assist in process improvements and system implementations.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage full-cycle accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
Oversee month-end and year-end close processes; prepare financial statements.
Assist CFO with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
Support audit preparation and liaise with external auditors.
Review and improve accounting processes and workflows.
Manage and mentor junior accounting staff as needed.
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, payroll, and finance teams.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
Experience in fintech or high-growth companies preferred.
Strong technical skills in accounting software (NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems).
Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with financial reporting tools a plus.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
