A growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Accounting Analyst to join its finance team. This role offers the opportunity to work cross-functionally, support key financial reporting processes, and contribute to operational and accounting initiatives that drive business performance.
The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to identify trends and provide meaningful insights to management.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze financial results, costs, variances, and trends, providing recommendations and insights to leadership.
- Partner with operational teams to review and monitor monthly manufacturing and production-related expenses.
- Assist with month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and supporting schedules.
- Prepare accruals and other journal entries in accordance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Complete detailed balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations, resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Support annual audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor requests.
- Assist with tax-related reporting and filing requirements.
- Develop ad hoc financial analyses and reports to support decision-making across the business.
- Help strengthen internal controls, accounting procedures, and process improvements.
- Collaborate with technology and systems teams to enhance accounting processes and reporting capabilities.
- Stay informed on accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Participate in special projects and other finance initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, including debits, credits, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
- Pivot Tables
- XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP
- SUMIFS
- INDEX/MATCH
- Conditional Formatting
- Data Validation
- Large dataset analysis
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Ability to communicate financial information effectively to management and cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable preparing reports, presenting findings, and supporting business decisions through data analysis.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting or financial analysis experience.
- CPA designation is preferred but not required.
