A professional financial services firm in Santa Monica is seeking an Entry-Level Accountant to join its team on a temp-to-hire basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or early-career accounting professional looking to build a strong foundation in accounting and finance within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, strong attention to detail, and hands-on experience or exposure to QuickBooks.
Responsibilities
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Support bank and account reconciliations
- Help maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial records
- Assist with month-end close activities
- Review invoices and expense documentation for accuracy and proper coding
- Organize and maintain accounting files and supporting documentation
- Support ad hoc accounting and finance projects as needed
- Assist with data entry and reporting in QuickBooks
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting or Finance
- 0-2 years of accounting or finance experience preferred
- Experience with QuickBooks required
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Eagerness to learn and grow within an accounting team
