Accounts Receivable Clerk/Specialist
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Receivable Clerk/Specialist to join our client’s team on a contract to hire basis. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining smooth financial operations, supporting the credit and collections process, and ensuring timely responses to customer inquiries. This role offers opportunities to learn, grow, and take on additional responsibilities as part of a collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities:

Customer Communication:
- Answer incoming calls and monitor credit-related email groups.
- Respond to customer inquiries related to invoice copies, documentation requests, and ACH payment notifications.
- Send revised invoices to customers as needed and escalate customer disputes to the collections team.

Daily Processing:
- Accurately post cash receipts to the appropriate customer invoices.
- Process and prepare daily mail and other financial correspondence.

Credit and Customer Set-Up:
- Pull credit reports on new customer requests and set credit limits in line with company SOPs and guidelines.
- Accurately input new customer information into the Transportation Management System (TMS).
- Learn and execute new customer setup procedures, including contract review and establishing customer accounts.

Collections Support & Learning Opportunities:
- Familiarize yourself with the collections process and progress toward managing accounts as experience grows.
- Assist in supporting high-volume request periods by learning operational processes and contributing as needed.

Operational Support:
- Take on additional responsibilities to support the efficiency of the accounts receivable department as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proficient in handling financial correspondence and inquiries.
- Familiarity with credit reporting processes is a plus but not required-training will be provided.
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and learn new processes quickly.
