Position Summary:
As an integral part of our legal team, you will play a crucial role in facilitating complex commercial real estate transactions and closings. We are specifically looking for experience in commercial real estate related to shopping centers and retail triple-net properties (e.g. restaurants, drug stores, banks buildings, etc.). Your expertise will support attorneys in navigating all phases of the deal process, from contract negotiation to post-closing matters. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week); candidates should also be flexible to work overtime as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions from contracts and loan commitments through closing and post-closing.
- Assist with commercial real estate due diligence, including title and survey reviews, title objection letters, lease reviews, municipal lien searches, and UCC, judgment, litigation, and lien searches.
- Prepare organizational documents and assist in entity formation.
- Prepare closing checklists, critical dates timelines, title commitments, title policies, closing statements, title and other affidavits, entity authorizations, customary closing documentation, etc.
- Responsible for closing binders and assisting with other aspects of the transactions as needed, both locally and nationally.
Ideal Candidate:
Seasoned Professional: Possess a minimum of 10 years of experience as a Commercial Real Estate Paralegal with experience in commercial real estate related to shopping centers and retail triple-net properties (e.g. restaurants, drug stores, banks buildings, etc.).
Detail-Oriented: Exhibit meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks.
Problem-Solver: Proactively identify and resolve issues, showcasing resourcefulness and initiative.
Effective Communicator: Foster strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and external parties through clear and concise communication.
Tech-Savvy: Demonstrate proficiency with Windows-based software and essential Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and Paralegal Certification preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
