Beacon Hill Legal is seeking a Senior Litigation Paralegal to support a law firm’s Managing Partner in all aspects of litigation. This role requires a highly experienced paralegal with a minimum of 10 years’ of experience, superior computer skills, and in-depth knowledge of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills, and must be able to multi-task and prioritize projects efficiently. This opportunity is full time, direct hire, and fully on-site with some travel and frequent overtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor the Managing Partner’s emails throughout the day and handle responses independently when possible
- Coordinate daily appointments, hearings, and meetings with the Managing Partner and his Legal Secretary
- Maintain constant and open communication with clients, opposing counsel, co-counsel, and court personnel
- Prepare and revise pleadings, motions, and other legal documents as requested
- Accompany the Managing Partner to court hearings, mediations, depositions, and other out-of-town case-related travel
- Set up Zoom calls, prepare briefcases for trials and meetings, and manage electronic filings using various software platforms
- Work closely with the Managing Partner’s Legal Secretary, other litigation teams, and administrative and accounting departments
- Track and bill time for all work done on client matters (this position does not have a billable hour requirement)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred; equivalent on-the-job experience considered
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a Litigation Paralegal role
- Superior computer skills and proficiency in Word, Hummingbird eDocs, ProDoc eFiling, PACER, Westlaw or LexisNexis, Secretary of State, eDiscovery platforms, Excel, PowerPoint, and general internet research sites
- Strong technical knowledge and keyboarding skills
- Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects through efficient time management
- In-depth knowledge of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and calculating due dates
- Experience sharing documents from laptop to media screen in court is a plus
