Job Title: Human Resources Generalist
Location: Eagan, MN (Onsite)
Compensation: $70,000-$76,000 annually (DOE)

About the Role
Beacon Hill’s client is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to oversee and execute a wide range of HR and benefits functions during a critical time of spring startup in the construction industry. This role is responsible for supporting union and non-union employees across multiple locations, managing daily HR operations, employee relations, full-cycle benefits administration, and compliance reporting.
This exciting contract-to-hire role that is onsite in Eagan, MN.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources
- Collaborate with Project Managers on recruitment, interviews, job fairs, and union coordination
- Manage onboarding and new hire paperwork
- Coordinate union enrollment and apprenticeship agreements
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel files and HR documentation
- Support employee relations matters and performance evaluations
- Coordinate company handbooks, fleet management programs, and drug/alcohol policies
- Submit First Reports of Injury, manage worker’s comp claims, and attend claim review meetings
- Support annual HR reporting and strategic HR projects
Employee Benefits Administration
- Administer daily operations of benefit programs (health, dental, vision, COBRA, etc.)
- Partner with brokers on plan design, renewals, and compliance (ACA, ERISA)
- Lead open enrollment and ongoing benefit communications
- Maintain employee benefit files and enter payroll deductions
- Monitor billing, eligibility, and resolve discrepancies with carriers
401(k) Administration
- Enroll employees, process loans and distributions, and ensure accurate payroll integration
- Handle weekly contributions, compliance testing, and annual 5500 filings
- Plan and coordinate annual trainings and trustee meetings
Affirmative Action & EEO Compliance
- Maintain Affirmative Action Plans and reporting (EEO-1, MN Human Rights, project-specific)
- Coordinate Good Faith Efforts and support audits and compliance reviews
Documentation & Procedure Development
- Create and maintain clear, efficient procedures for all HR and benefits responsibilities
- Leverage technology to streamline workflows and improve processes
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required; some college or PHR certification preferred
- 3+ years in a human resources role; 5+ years of benefits administration experience
- 3+ years of experience in construction and/or union environments
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills
- Experience with multi-location workforces preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with payroll systems and benefits platforms
