Beacon Hill Legal is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support a Trusts & Estates team within a mid-sized law firm. This role requires a strong background in legal administrative work and excellent technical skills. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in a law firm or legal department, with a focus on estate planning, probate, and trust administration. This opportunity is direct hire, full-time, and fully on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys in the Trusts & Estates practice group
- Prepare, edit, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and reports
- Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate court deadlines
- Assist with legal billing using Aderant or similar software
- Maintain and organize client files, both electronic and physical
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and third parties
- Support document filing with county and state courts, including e-filing
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a legal assistant in a professional legal setting
- Strong understanding of county and state court systems and procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with legal billing software, preferably Aderant
- Typing speed of at least 70 WPM
- Superior attention to detail and proofreading abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Strong organizational and time management skills
