Our client is seeking a technical consultant or architect to support the transition from Hasura Enterprise to Hasura Open Source, while also evaluating and potentially implementing alternative open-source solutions for API integration and data access.
This role will help us assess the right long-term architecture for our integration layer, balancing performance, observability, scalability, and maintainability. The ideal candidate will bring experience with Hasura and other modern API/data orchestration tools, and be able to guide us through proof-of-concept deployments, architecture design, and potential migration planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the transition from Hasura Enterprise to Hasura Open Source while evaluating alternative open-source platforms (e.g., The Guild, Graphbase, Apollo, or others)
- Design and implement a scalable, observable, and cloud-agnostic integration layer
- Support proof-of-concept deployments and performance comparisons
- Collaborate with internal teams to assess feasibility of migrating ~268 endpoints
- Provide guidance on observability and monitoring (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus)
- Offer flexible consulting support post-deployment (e.g., reduced hours for ongoing support/escalation)
Required Qualifications
- Experience with Hasura (Enterprise and/or Open Source)
- Familiarity with GraphQL and other modern API technologies
- Experience evaluating or implementing open-source integration platforms
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with distributed teams
- Availability to work during Pacific Time (PST) business hours
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience migrating from Hasura to other platforms (e.g., The Guild, Graphbase, Apollo)
- Background in backend architecture, platform engineering, or integration design
- Prior consulting experience in similar roles
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
