Job Title: Legal Assistant – Corporate/M&A
Salary: $65,000 – $90,000 (commensurate with experience)
Beacon Hill Legal is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support a Corporate/Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) practice group in Houston. This position is full-time, direct hire, and fully on-site.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and organize correspondence, legal documents, and electronic files
- Provide telephone coverage and message delivery for assigned attorneys
- Coordinate teleconferences and conference calls
- Schedule appointments, coordinate meetings, and manage travel arrangements
- Submit expense reimbursements and manage attorney CLE attendance and tracking
- Assist with document processing, courier deliveries, and conference room reservations
- Support multiple attorneys and practice groups as needed
- Draft and file formation documents, including e-filing with the Secretary of State
- Prepare electronic closing binders and assist with private offering documents
- Create and update complex organizational charts
- Review, correct, and distribute pre-bills and invoices
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a legal or professional services setting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with legal billing software (Aderant preferred)
- Typing speed of at least 70 WPM
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and proofreading abilities
- Familiarity with county and state court systems
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Experience drafting and editing legal documents
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience in a Corporate/M&A legal practice
- Knowledge of legal procedures and terminology
- Experience preparing private offering documents and electronic closing binders
