Our client, a growing transportation company located in Itasca is looking for a Customer Service Representative who specializes in air export to add to their team! This position books air export cargo shipments services using technical, organizational, and customer knowledge to influence customers. This is a temporary to permanent position with the training hours of 8-5pm Monday-Friday. Once trained, the schedule would change to Tuesday-Saturday.
Responsibilities
- Provides front line service to customers by booking air cargo shipments into an automated tracking system
- Handles and resolves customer complaints and special shipping needs
- Responds to customer questions regarding product or services
- Receives and processes shipment requests for shipments from customers and Sales Department personnel and if needed provides information concerning pricing, rates, and changes in service
- Coordinates with customers by phone or in person to ensure the best service possible
- Refers complaints of product or service difficulties to appropriate departments for investigation
- Coordinates customers; service needs with other departments as required to ensure quality customer service
- May have to occasionally remain beyond core business schedule to assure customer satisfaction
- Perform other duties, as needed
Requirements:
- At least 1 year customer service, or an operational coordination role in transportation, freight forwarding or transport industry experience
- Must have solid understand of computer systems; MS Office
- Must be an organized and self motivated individual with ability to interface and function effectively in a high pressure multitasking environment while maintaining a professional demeanor with customers, vendors, and team members.

- Must be able to maintain sensitivity to proprietary matters
